Why NDIS registration matters (and why we’ve done it twice)

We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve been able to achieve NDIS registration not once, but twice. This is true validation of the quality of our work, and something that benefits each and every one of our clients.
Did you know that 90% of therapy providers are not registered with the NDIS?

Why? Because it’s not mandatory, and it’s easier and cheaper to opt out of registration.

But at The Lizard Children’s Centre, we believe there are no shortcuts to success, and that’s why we’ve worked so hard to earn the two NDIS registrations.

If you are looking for Early Childhood Intervention for your toddler, Therapy Supports for your school aged child or for a Behaviour Support Program for your teen, you can now be 100% confident that our team at Lizard meets all NDIS guidelines on best practice.

A major commitment in supporting your child’s growth

To highlight just how committed the NDIS is to ensuring quality outcomes for children, there are 110 different practice standards that a provider like us needs to meet to be registered.

Why are these important?

Because the NDIS has clearly defined what best practice looks like for early intervention and behaviour support. They have meticulously laid out the important principles for delivering quality supports for your children and teens.

This includes things like:

  • Recognising and respecting your family’s expertise and knowledge;
  • Ensuring your child’s plan is highly individualised to their unique needs;
  • Supporting your child in their everyday routine and natural learning environment;
  • Collaborating with therapists, educators, support workers and health professionals;
  • Providing interventions based on validated practices and the best available research;
  • And having clear functional outcomes, which are measured and shared with you.

No doubt you agree that all these things are pretty important. That’s why we are one of the few therapy providers to earn a NDIS registration.

Whilst all providers will promise these things, not many have the proof that we do.

“We sweat the hundred small things so that we get the big things right for the children and families which we support,” Lizard CEO, Mark Mulder, said.

Is your therapy provider NDIS registered? If not, now is a good time to give us a call at The Lizard Children’s Centre.
